Replaced Element and Oven Still Won't Work

So about six weeks ago my element burned and went kaput. I bought a new element but it still wasn’t working so I figured it must have been a control board problem as the stove top stopped working as well. I kept blowing fuses and realized that the element I got was the wrong model number as GE replaced the old standard and I bought the wrong kind.

I was hoping that with this new element (the correct one) that everything would be fine but still no luck. The stove top still works but the new element is just not heating up. Its not the fuses as they’re brand new and the stove top is working like it did when we first bought the oven so I’m confident the control board didn’t get damaged by the blown fuses. The only thing I can think may be they problem is the when I blew the fuses the leads that attach to the element came off and got stuck to the back panel. I yanked them off with pillers but perhaps they were damaged.

If anybody has any advice I’d be more than appreciative. I’m not really a handy guy but put a lot of time, money, and effort into this and hope to be able to finish the project myself.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Edit: model # rb787dp?

Hi.

Please provide complete model number.

Thank you.

Simon.

Sorry, I got the oven from my parents and don’t know the full model number. I believe after some checking it may be rb787dp as it seems to be what the oven is, including being self clean. Unfortunately that’s all I know so hopefully it will be enough.
