Replacement of Dishwasher sump and motor

I purchased the motor and pump assembly part 154473001 and have run into an installation question. The installation instruction included with the parts indicate unplugging the motor wiring harness when removing the sump from the tub. I also have two other wire attachments to the bottom of the sump. One consists of two yellow wires attached by a screw to the bottom of the sump. The replacement sump has an indentation and a screw hole to re-attach this wiring.
The real isse is a round plastic plug with red, white and black wires. There is a hole in the old sump that penetrates into the upper side of the depressed channel in front of the pump impeller. The top of this plug is clear plastic and I am not sure if this is some sort of tempeture sensing sending unit. The problem is the replacement sump does not have a hole or screw hole attachements to accomodate this sensor.

What is the sensor and how do I complete the installation?

Thanks for your help

There are two different sumps included in the kit. Make sure you choose the right one. You can find more specific instructions in the Service manual.

Gene.

My washer is not spinning all of the water out of my wash load. The drum turns, but at a slow speed. Also, since this started yesterday, the fabric softener doesn’t dispense on the rinse cycle.

The standard repair for slow spin on these models is to replace this part.

As far as the fabric softener problem is concerned, check out the service manual.
