Replacing Main Control Board - GE Refrigerator

New member here, hoping for some help installing a new main control board on my GE refrigerator. Being a little handy and doing some research, I thought it might be something I can handle myself but i’m running into an issue with the grounding wire. The old unit is grounded, but the grounding wire itself appears to originate from inside the refrigerator and then is crimped into a connector which then goes into the board (see bottom of first pic). The new control board grounding wire is independent of any cables coming from the refrigerator itself.

I’m wanting to make sure i ground this correctly, so what would be the best way to install this? Oh, also, the panel itself is held on by two screws, neither of which are in reach of the grounding wire on the new board. Any thoughts? I have attached pics. thanks!

You need to splice the fridg. ground wire to the new ground wire from the new board.

I thought that might be the case, thank you! One point of clarification, can i do this with just a wire nut and electrical tape or do i need to do something more?

I would just twist the wires together and rout it under the edge of the lid to keep it decent looking.

I need to replace the same board.
My problem is that my board burned up and it burned part of the 6 wire connector.
Where can I find a replacement board connector?

I tried to attach picture, but I am a newbie…sorry

The wire harness is glued in the fridg section, not a replaceable item.
