This morning, my microwave just went dead right after we used it. Dead display and all. The breaker is fine, so I am assuming it is the internal fuse. How do I get to the fuse on this model? The grill isn’t on top of the door like I have seen online.
Does anyone know how to get to the control panel in the microwave?
OK, I figured it out and replaced the fuse. It blew immediately when the door closed.
I tested the switches, only see two of them where the door closes. The top on shows continuity when closed and the bottom one when open. I tested the them in the microwave and out. Does that make sense that they would be opposite? I have heard there is a third switch but I only see one at each prong that is on the door.
It sounds like a bad switch.

That is what I thought. I just retested them both and they tested correctly. The switched only have two prongs and they are different one is a normally open and the other is normal closed.
I wonder if there is a third switch hiding somewhere.
Or something else is a dead short.
Or maybe part of the door or interlock assembly is damaged.
When you close the door both switches should be activated. Look for broken or missing plastic parts. Does the door have any spring loaded pins or tabs that activate the door switches? look for broken springs. Missing tabs.
I found the third switch which is clearly bad. The button is always depressed. The bottom switch on the door had one on each side of the bracket. Now I just need to purchase the new switch and install it.
And rookie mistake I forgot to take the picture of the wiring for the first two switches so hopefully I put them on correctly. Since they are just two pole I couldn’t have screwed it up too bad, I might have to go through an extra fuse if I wired one wrong. I do have the picture of the three pole switch. I know dumb dumb dumb.

The two connection switches won’t matter. Almost any heavy duty micro switch will work. I used to stock ones with a 21 amp rating. Slightly more expensive but good for microwaves and ovens.
Switch and fuse replaced and the microwave works! The entire family is pleased.
