Ridiculous repair quote for ice maker...

My family has a built-in ice maker, it’s a Sub Zero 315IP.

It recently stopped working properly - ice wasn’t being made… water was running over where the ice gets formed, a few ice cubes were at the bottom, but that was it.

A Sub-Zero recommended repair company came to the house, charged $95 just to come give an estimate. They quoted $900, saying that it’s $200 in parts and $600 in labor.

I believe they said it was a freon issue, but I’m being told all of this info through my parents, so I don’t know the details.

They are supposed to be coming next week to do the repair, but I can’t shake the feeling that this is a total rip-off. But there is almost no information I can find online about ice makers like this.

Does this all sound realistic? I noticed today that the machine is producing a bit of ice… there’s maybe… 25 cubes at the bottom right now.

Nobody? Checking one last time before we bite the bullet.

Sorry but I cannot be of much help.
Never worked on SubZero and very little experience with ice makers.

The symptom does not seem to match the diagnosis.
Seems to me it may just be too much water entering the cube section/plate but then I know next to nothing about these units.
