I have A GE JUNK REFRIG. I HAVE A FREEZER THAT KEEPS FREEZING UP I HAVE PUT A NEW CONTROL BOARD ON IT FREEZE UP I’VE CHECK THE DEFROST HEATER I’VE CHECK THE DEFROST THERMOSTAT ITS GOOD AND YES WITH A MULTIMETER THERE IS A THERMISTOR NEXT TO THE DEFROST THERMOSTAT COULD THIS BE THE PROBLUM OR COULD THE NEW CONTROL BOARD BE BAD:confused:
With the fridg running, unplug it, and locate the 3 pin gray power connector on the bottom of the motherboard. Remove it and place a wire jumper between the two pins that mate with the board labeled pins line and def. Plug in fridg, it should start defrosting. If not, you have either a bad heater or defrost thermostat.

I got your your reply to my question but I am not clear on what to do. I no where the plug is you are talking about The line -Def & Comp Pins Now what I need to now is do I jump the Line pin & Def pin on the board and plug and plug conector back on the control board . Or leave plug off control board with jumper in it to test. Now if it does work and I connect it back to the board and it does the samething could the sensor be the problum.
You do not plug it in the board, just plug fridg in, if there is no defrost action, you have a heater or defrost thermostat problem.
