My husband is trying to fix this washer for our daughter it fills washes but won’t drain or spin out and he said it looks like it has lost oil or has leaked oil. And do you or can you replace the oil? And if so what do you use? So he says it fills washes but beyond that it stops!

You did not say if it agitates. If it does then your symptoms suggest a lid switch problem.
If the seal on the transmission is bad it will leak oil. You would need to remove the transmission, an easier job then it sounds and replace the seal and the missing oil. 90 weight oil should do the job, but you can all the parts department of APP for advice and the parts.
