my side by side freezer not staying frozen. stays around 20 degrees. compressor will cycle on it will get to between 0-10 degrees but won’t stay cold. doing some research found that defrost control board is a common problem on this model so replaced it but still has same problem. Anyone have any ideas?
Sounds more like a control thermostat problem to me.
The unit will get to set point temperatures (should be between 0 and 5 degrees F) but then the thermostat sticks open so the compressor stays off and the freezer temperature rises. Then as soon as you touch the thermostat it closes and the compressor starts up cooling the unit down again.
