Hi all,
I got this fridge 4 years ago and it was working fine for some time. Few years ago the turbo light would not go off, but it still kept cooling just fine and I ignored it.
After we cam back from our Christmas trip we found out that all the ice in the freezer compartment had melted and refroze. The fridge was sort of cl but not blowing any cold air even though the compressor seemed to be working. We moved everything to the basement fridge and unplugged it. In the morning it started to work just fine and I thought it was a glitch . What a mistake. This morning it did the same thing. I unplugged it for a few hours and plugged it back on, and of course the compressor works but no cold air movement. The fridge temperature is around 42 and freeze is barely below freezing. I moved everything out of it once again. I do not have the money right now to call a repair man.
How do I fix thing myself ? I know that I will at least need the main board because of the turbo light. What else should I check ? The main board is 200D4854G6017, seril number is HH406684 if that helps.
I am now taking out the cover which houses the fan … it sure is a lot of stuff which is coming out, I hope I can put everything back in …
The coils were still more than half frozen … covered with ice … I took a picture and will post it later if it is allowed.
Ok It is now gutted fully I can see fan looking upward … do I now power on the fridge and test the voltage ?
If it helps, everything in the vegetable compartment in the fridge part was frozen solid …
Ok I checked the voltage between red and white wire and had 13 volts, same between white and yellow wire …I measured it at the jack which comes from the fridge. The fan was not working and I tried to spin it by hand and it would not start. Then as I increased and decreased the temperature settings I saw a white little thin thingie attached to the cooling pipes and put my fingers on it and after a while the fan started to work …
This is as far as I can go without any help folks Obviously I am looking at something which occurs once a week or something like that. It is working fine and cooling now. I am not going to put anything into it before I figure out what is wrong with it. Sick and tired of moving fridge contents.
Thanks for your help in advance.
