Hi,
I have noticed a build up of ice inside my freezer. I did some searching and tested the heater element at the bottom of my freezer. It reads 21 ohms. This means that it is ok. I then checked the thermostat is reading closed but the heater is not getting warm. I have looked for a timer and could not find it. I have also read that there may be a controller board for this fridge. Can someone help.
This unit has a DEFROST TIMER, looks like its in the top of the refer section behind the control panel. Turn it clockwise until it clicks, Then see if it defrosts. If it does, Replace the TIMER !!!
It shows a TIMER behind the panel in the top of the REFER section. Remove the lite shield and look for a 3/8" white or tan knob that is ALMOST flush with the metal shield.(I think its all the way to the right side) With a flat blade screwdriver, turn the knob clockwise slowly until you hear it click, This puts the refer into DEFROST, If it starts to defrost, Replace the TIMER!!!
So after locating the timer something strange happened. I have not touched the timer yet. I simply removed the first shield to get to the timer. When I opened the freezer I saw that the defroster was on! So I waited a while and the defroster had shut off. The coils were not completely defrosted. So today I completly defrosted the coils with a hair dryer. Plugged in the fridge and it seems to work ok. The coils have some ice on them already and I am wondering what I should do next. Could the timer have a problem where it would only work once and a while. Is there anything else I should be doing.
The good thing here is that I have another fridge to put the food into until I get this fixed.
Power surge at home during storm; cook top , clock. heat setting and etc.in display appear to be working, but when you set oven it will not ignite. Cook top ignites. Current to stove is available. Is there a reset in the head of the stove ? How to check if its the igniter bad or something else?
The range top gas burners work. When oven is turned on, Two clicks is heard but no lighting occurs. The broiler and the oven itself do not work. Could this be the main gas valve and if I replace is there anything else that is needed to be done? Re-program of oven or anything of that nature. Thank you for your help. Chris
Hi Gene,
I just bought this gas valve/regulator (AP3866825) from ApplicancePartsPros. Do you know the partnumber for the gas coupling that will be compatible with it, so I can connect it to the main gas line?
Thanks,
Pierre
Hi Gene,
I was actually planning to re-use the gas coupling but I just can’t take it off from the old one. It’s like super stuck to the old one with the joint compound on it. I just thought of buying a new one. But since I attached it back to the oven because we still need it for the top burners to work, I don’t have anything to show the hardware, hence the partnumber request.
Anyway, if you have cool ideas to loosen the coupling, I would appreciate that too.
Thanks,
Pierre
