Spin cycle is very loud, like a jet engine

Everything works great with the washer but in the last month while on any spin cycle the noise makes it sound like I am in a airplane. It is very loud.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Check your warranty, I believe your tub bearings are guaranteed for 10 years.I would get it fixed soon before your motor/motor control blows out from the bearings increased friction.

Thanks for the intial info. The Stainless steel drum and platic tub are covered for 10 years. I would make the presumption this does not include the bearings?

They do NOT sell a complete tub without bearings, just check.

You are correct, the tub/bearings are covered for 10 years. Parts will not be available for 10 days, the repairman said it shoulds be Ok to use, just loud. The question would be is the motor (control) part of this repair or would you recommend not to use it until repaired?

Your motor/ motor electronics are not covered under your warranty, just check and verify.
If you have an amprobe, check your washer current during high speed spin. If higher than 3 amps, you might have a problem. Also, if your motor shuts down during this period, it’s probably shutting down on it’s thermal overload. Syptoms would be motor shutdown and off for several minutes.
You can also put this as a question in this forum, or call Whirlpool.
Personally, I would not use it, you might do mechanical damage not covered under the warranty.
