I have a 15-year old stacked Maytag washer/dryer, model LS7804. It was working normally until yesterday. After finishing one load, the washer would not start to fill for the next one. There is no noise when the dial is pulled out, no water flow at all. If I advance the dial manually, the spin will start, so the lid interlock is okay.
Any ideas.
Several issues could be at play here. The most likely is a failure of the inlet valves or a failure of the water level switch which tells the timer to start the fill process.
Check those out first, if you don’t find the problem let us know what you did learn.
Last November I found that there was a blown 1 amp fuse. (On left side in front.) The washer works fine when it is replaced, but it periodically blows again. Does this give an idea of what component is malfunctioning to blow the fuse?

There are a couple of things that cause the fuse to blow.(technically 2)
a. if the lid switch and the check switch, have closed circuits at the same time
the fuse will blow.
This can occur under certain types of "off balanced" loads, or a "sticky" switch assembly.
b. a shorted fill valve circuit, not a very common occurence.
For an ongoing problem the manufacturer, reccomends you : make sure the washer is level, or slightly higher in the front( 1/4 to3/8"), replace the lid switch assembly and fuse as an assembly(same time).
