The washer was making a grinding whining noise. After looking under the bottom of the washer, I noticed there was moister and rust in the Rotor Assy. It was not spinning freely like it should. It is grinding against the the stator. I removed the rotor and noticed rust and moisture inside of it. I then removed the basket drive hub and noticed the same rust inside of the gears. Not sure how the moisture got down there. There is a big nut on the bottom of the basket drive shaft. Looks tight but there is a washer of some kind that seems loose behind the nut. I tried to tighten the nut but it seems tight. Is it possible the drive shaft is ruined and a new basket is needed to fix this as well as the stator and rotor?
