Sudden Gridning Noise during cycle, burning rubber smell

My Bosch made a loud grinding noise while it was washing dishes. I thought something had gotten askew inside, so I opened to look for something being repeatedly whacked by the rotating spray arms. Everything was clear. The cycle finished, the dishes were clean, the light on the controls indicated the dishes were clean, but there was still water in the bottom of the tank. My fine filter and the screeen were both free of any obstructions, now it won’t drain. There was a smell of burning rubber or wire insulation at the same time.
