The fan switch turned on, and after so long would turn itself off. Sometimes after turning it to go on it wouldn’t start and then after so long it would go on. Now it doesn’t work at all. I am wondering if it is just the switch or fan? Thanks for help. Also, does anyone know how to get down into the middle of the cooktop to clean out the sides and under the filter?

Cannot say if it is the switch or the motor.
Sounds more like the motor but that is just a guess.
You will have to pull them and check them with a meter.
If the switch checks out OK then it is probably the motor.
You could check the motor windings with a meter. It will tell you if the motor is gone if a winding is open. But if the windings check OK it does not eliminate the motor as being bad. Only way to check for sure is to do a live test with a line cord.
Note: I did find a bulletin that said there had been problems with the switches.
