Thin-Twin whirlpool LTE6234DQ2 washer

The washer fills water, rotates the laundry but does not pump the water; there is no pump noise and it stops and waits; if I move to the next step in the cycle,it will do the same. If I raise the load size to large, the washer will only add water and rotate.
My guess is that there is a problem with the pump (model # AP2908525). I have a few questions:
1- Are there simple things to check before replacing the pump?
2- Can someone give me repair guidance or indicate where I can find a repair manual?
Thanks very much.

I don’t think it is your pump. The pump is driven by the same motor shaft that drives the transmission and it sounds like the motor is not coming on to do the pump, which would be a timer issue.

Here is a link to a repair manual.

Thanks for your answer. I believe that you are right. I did a pump replacement that did not make a difference.

I bought a Whirlpool pump from a retail part store in Chicago (I will not give out the name to respect the usual protocol); after the fact I noticed that the store also sells on Internet. The store price was 230% of the Internet price. This reminded me a visit to the great wall of China: the price of water was going up every 50 yards.
Although it is perfectly legal to suck the customers dry, I should have done my homework upfront and stayed away from that store. In fact, I should have ordered on line and used the coin laundry in my building in the mean time.
May be we should use twitter to locate reasonable suppliers?:):)

Those of us who reply on this site are mostly volunteers, we are not connected with APP. We do this because APP is a great company, their prices are the lowest almost all the time, their shipping charges are very low for 2nd day delivery and they have a returns policy that let’s you return the part almost unconditionally.

There are good internet parts suppliers, but I don’t think anyone can do better than APP.

We have a similar problem with a Whirlpool Thin-Twin. We replaced the timer AND the pump, and still can’t get the darned thing to drain.

Check the lid switch. Bad (open) lid switch, no drain/spin, no timer advance.
