Timer Issues

This is a dryer I purchased used. I soon found that the timer did not work. That is to say the dryer worked perfectly well to dry cloths except that the timer did not turn and then turn off. I had to go check it and take out the cloths when they where dry.

I recently replaced the timer with a new one from this site. I "think" it was working just fine with the new timer for 5 or 6 loads of laundry. A few days after installing the new timer I discovered that it was once again not switching off after any amount of time.

I was very careful when installing it to transfer one wire at a time to the new timer. Im confident that the new timer is installed exactly as the old one.

Is there some other element of the dryer that I should troubleshoot? Is there some other element in the dryer that if faulty would cause the motor in the timer to burn out?

Thank you for any ideas you have on this subject.

Try starting it on Timed dry and no heat or air fluff for about 20 minutes and see if it turns off.

I ran two tests. One for 20 minutes on Fluff. And One for 20 minutes on timer with the temp set to delicate. In both cases the knob did not turn at all.

Your new timer may be bad. See if you’re getting 120 VAC to the timer motor.

My brother in law asks where is the humidity sensor on this dryer. We looked for one but could not find it.
