Timer Switch?

We have a Frigidaire model # GLTR1670AS0 front load washing machine that does not fill on the first cycle (the wash cycle) on any of the settings. If I bypass that cycle by manually advancing the dial, it fills and runs normally through the remainder of the cycle. Is this likely a defective timer control or is there a fill solenoid that could be bad? Or something else I should look at? I haven’t taken anything apart yet…not really sure where to start.

Could be

or is there a fill solenoid that could be bad?
Depends on the cycle you are using.
If it does this on a cold/cold cycle then the valve is OK.
it it does this on a hot/cold cycle then it could be that the hot side of the valve is bad.

Or something else I should look at?
Could also be the temperature switch.

Odds are that it is the timer but this is just a guess.
To confirm this you would have to use a meter and check the timer and temperature switch contacts using the timing charts in the tech sheet to see if they are closing when they should.

Thanks for the information and reply…I will get to work on testing it tonight.
