Yes, sounds like the tub bearing assembly is worn, badly.
You’ll need to order the outer tub assembly, it will have the bearings, seal and drive shaft assembly in the tub kit.
It’s not that hard a job to perform, more cumbersome and frustrating, than hard.

Correct, I didn’t do too many OOW or service contract repairs on that unit,either.
