My washer maytag mod mav7600aww fills up with water as it normally would but it doesn’t aggitate during the regular wash cycle. During the spin cycle, it drains out the water but doesn’t spin at all. Please advise
The pump is driven by the belt, so since it is draining this means that the motor is running. If the transmission were frozen you would smell a burning of the belt, so it is likely that the transmission is turning but nothing is happening.
Operate it with the front cover off and you will probably confirm that during the agitate and spin cycles the motor and transmission pulley are turning. In that case the problem is likely in the transmission itself.
