My washer will fill up and go through the first wash cycle. When it comes to the time to drain before the spin and rinse cycle, it just stops, makes buzzing noises, and won’t do anything else. I’m suspecting the pump has gone out?

If you put the dial into spin cycle, will it spin ?
I’m suspecting something in the pump, or like you a bad pump.

When I set it to extra spin, it will spin the full cycle. There’s a couple of odd noises now and again, I wonder if something is loose in there? I’m pretty sure there is also some water left inside the machine since it’s starting to be kinda stinky and I already got all the water out of the drum. After the spin cycle was over, there was a little bit of residual water and dirt coming back up through the holes.

Sounds like a bad pump to me,
Is your drain line(plumbing) clean ?
Based on the info(dirt, mud) you may need to clean it as well.
And replace the pump.
My Maytag DG7600 won’t stay lit. When cold, after pushing the start button there is a click, the ignitor begins to glow, about ten seconds later, a second click and the gas lights. After about 3-4 minutes the gas flame goes out. It will not relight until the unit cools down. The exhaust vent appears to be clear, air vents out the vent. The timer advances on time settings but no heat. The auto dry settings don’t advance.
