The Gibson washer I have is in a vacation home and has seen very little use for its age, however, I now have a problem:
It has a mechanical timer that gets "stuck" mid wash, in order to get to the spin cycle I must advance it by hand.
My question: Is this a timer issue, I’m willing to spend the money on a new timer if that’s the problem, but I don’t want to get into a science project and waste money (I’d rather buy a new washer if that’s the case)
The mechanical timer rotates fine until it finishes the first wash cycle. The timer clicks to the next stage and a mechanical contact is broken to the timer motor…i’m assuming there’s another sensor in the system that is supposed to start the timer motor at some point. Any ideas what it could be? Or is this controlled by the main control board.
