washer motor wont run kicks out on overload suspect capacitor?

Washer will fill but motor will not start, hums and then clicks like circut protection. I suspect the capacitor is bad but unsure of how to check can anyone help?

It is far more likely your motor has failed, but this site

is one of many that will show you how to test the capacitor.

Be careful, you can get a jolt if it is not discharged when you start working with it.

I would first pull the outer cover, and the pump.Then check for something stuck in the pump.
