Washer problems

Have a top load Amana MODEL# LWD35AW that gave off a burnt rubber smell a few months ago and today the wife called and said it made a clicking sound, stopped, and gave off an odor she can’t describe behind it after three and one half loads? She doesn’t think it smelled like rubber?

She tried to get it to start again emediately and it wouldn’t but in a few hours she got it to start but shut it off until I got home. I was able to turn it on to finish the load and it is making a slight clacking sound (the belt I think?) but not the sound she heard?

I removed the front panel and all I see is the belt is BADLY cracked on the inside and has a crack almost all the way through on the outside? I believe because of the "motor overload protector" is why the wife couldn’t start it right away BUT would the belt cause the protector to activate???:frowning:

Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
