Washer Won't Drain

Hello

I have a Maytag front load washer that will not drain. When it gets to the spin drain cycle, or if I just put it on drain, it makes a hum noise, but will not drain. Do you know what the problem might be?

Also, is there a repair manual for this model?

Either something stuck i the water pump or the water pump has failed and needs to be replaced. I see a fair amount of these pumps fail in the field.

Thank you so very much for the reply. Do I need to take the pump out and check to see if something is in it. I took the hose off and looked inside and did not see anything, but I probably will have to take it apart, right?

If I take it apart and find nothing, it needs to be replaced, correct?

I would remove the pump so I could see the impeller and spin the impeller around with my finger.

I would say so. I have found with this type of pump sometimes the seal between the pump housing and motor fails and the motor gets water in it making the pump fail.

By hearing the motor hum you know it’s getting power so unless something is stuck in it that can be removed to free it up the pump will need to be replaced.
