i have a washer that wont drain… everything else seems to work, is it the pump? when i took yhe hose off water flowed freely (people keep mentioning a clogged drain, however i cant seem to locate one). when i took the pump out it "looked" fine. now im confused… HELP!!!
This is a belt driven pump, so if the machine spins out ok either the pump is not working or there is an obstruction between the tub and the discharge pipe. It could be the discharge pipe, which you can check by putting the drain hose into a laundry sink (or bucket if you don’t have a laundry sink next to the machine) and see if water drains out.

thank you very much. the hoses appear free of obstructions so i can only assume its the pump. thanks again…
Well go a head and replace it and see if that fixes things. If you buy from this site and the part does not repair the problem you can return it, see the returns policy for details and conditions.
Good luck.

would i be able to see any damage to the pump if it was broken? i just took it apart and dont understand how it wouldnt work…
Possibly not, it may be turning when you have it but not turning the impellers under a load. About the only thing I can say, not being there, is to replace it and see what happens. This sorts trial and error is one of the costs of doing a repair like this for yourself instead of having a tech come out. Of course, the benefit is a huge savings in labor and part costs.
