washer wont spin

I had a load in and thought it was done only to find the clothes soaking wet. I cant even manually move the agitator. Can’t figure out how to get the back panel off due to so many plastic clips that will break if I try to take them off. Can anyone help me.

The coupling between the motor and the transmission is the most likely problem. To check this first remove the case by removing the two clips you see to the right and to the left of that plug you jumped out. Once off the case should lean forward and off. Then remove the water pump (I just leave the hoses attached and move it to the side) its held on by two clips. Next remove the motor, it is also held on by two clips but you have to remove the screws that hold on the clips. Once the motor is off you should see the coupling its either broken or the hole is rounded out or the rubber is torn. http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/Whirlpool-washer.html

Thanks for your help. I did take off the motor and the coupling is broken. I can’t find one of the white pegs that broke off. Hope it isn’t in the motor somewhere. I’ll see if I can get the part tomorrow. I really appreciate all your help. My husband over loaded the washer when he was laid off and doing the laundry now he’s working and I’m home fixing the washer. So I really do appreciate the link to the video and all your help. I’ll update if I can fix it tomorrow.

Taking 30 minutes to put the cabinet back is sort of a rite of passage, everyone experiences it that way. The next time it will go on the first time!

Glad it worked out, and thanks for updating us.

It’s best not to mess with these connectors. After an electronic component is isntalled, there is no returning it. It sounds like you received the wrong part. Does this part look more like what you need? [part]AP2025075[/part] Click on the part number for a view of the board.

Just to add my 2 cents…

The model number you posted does not come up anywhere and it is not possible to say if the part number for the ERC you received is the correct part number. Verify the model number and, if you are sure it is correct, try to get part number from the old ERC. It should be in the same format and start with "WB" . Also if you can post pictures of the old part and wire plug(s) it might help as well.
