I have a belt-drive Frigidaire washer and I think the belt is broken. I have not opened it up yet. It DOES agitate though. Does not spin. Will drain.
Does it make sense if the belt is broken that it would still agitate???
I think the belt is broken because I had a whine and a burning smell that smelled like burning rubber. I’m assuming that the belt is toast.
The guy at the local app. parts house told me the transmission is probably locked up. Claims Fridgidaires washers are known for this. But if my transmission was locked up, would the drum agitate???
