Water dispensing slowly

Hi, new to forum. Have a problem with my GE refrigerator dispensing water at a slow rate. I also noticed that the ice have been coming out partially formed, almost "hollow-like".

This problem occured after being gone on vacation for one week. Have already replaced the water filter, but it hasn’t helped. I was thinking it may be the water intake valve AP2071735? I do not have any experience replacing parts on a refrigerator, so any help and advice on how to take it apart t replace the water intake valve would be appreciated. Diagramsand suggestions would also help!

I would recommend you consider installing this part instead.
(click on part number)

[part]AP2071738[/part]
it will give you both the primary and secondary inlet valves and an instruction sheet.

To access the water inlet valve you will need to move the refrigerator out to access the back of the unit.

You may need to remove the lower access panel on the back if present.
You will see the inlet valve mounted to the side frame of the compartment.

The repair can be performed using basic hand tools (screw driver, nut driver, pliers or adjustable wrench)and should take 30 to 40 minutes to perform.

Thanks for letting us assist you.

Just got the part today. Installed and solved the problem. Thanks so much for the help.
