SORRY, I did not notice the Age Dropdown…the refrigerator is 20 years old.
This is regarding my Frigidaire FRT22RGCD1 purchased in 1995 (and has worked fine except for now )
We went on vacation for 12 days and when we got back and flipped the ice maker arm down to make ice we noticed the next day we had no ice.
I tested the water valve and got 300ohms. I tried heating the filler tube with a hairdryer for quiet a while and we are still not getting water to the ice maker.
I disconnected the water line going to the ice maker from the water valve and there is quiet a bit of pressure.
I just manually filled up the ice maker with water to see if that works, and it did make ice and automatically went through the cycle to dump it.
The ice maker arm that goes up and down automatically actuated by itself so it seems like it’s getting power.
I read something about disconnecting the electrical connection to the water valve and hooking a voltmeter to the connector and manually start an ice maker cycle by turning the screw under the ice maker cover and check for 110V for 7 seconds…is that something I should do?
Do you have any other suggestions?
