I don’t know for sure when the leak started, stage wise in to the cycle, because a load had already been washed by my son before I had gotten home and he couldn’t remember when it started leaking. What I found was a lot of water on the floor and a spot where about a 6 inch wide film of yellow oil was under the washer when it was moved. I am trying to understand what is wrong with the washer and wondering if the water leaked onto the transmission case/gear case from the drum and caused the oil to start leaking out of the trans… area. I don’t know if that is even possible with a seal on it I have worked on the washer over the years about 6 times… usually the digit dogs and replaced timer, had to drilled another hole for the spring at the bottom because it separated at one point. The washer is about 33 or 34 years old. It was my mother’s and it is the only thing I really have of hers. She isn’t here. So I have tried my hardest to save it. I have had it for about 26 years out. Please, information will be appreciated. there are pictures attached and I can take more if necessary.
