Whilpool Gold Ultimate Care Washer

Hi : My washer fills with water but dosen’t agitate, rinse or spin> I bailed out the water shut off the water valves and pulled out the switch to make it spin and it did nothing . No noise What could be wrong? Thanks

Sounds very much like the lid switch. On a lot of these Whirlpools a broken lid switch will still let it agitate, but other models will stop it after it fills, and that could be yours.

Hi; Thanks, I did more research and i found out that it still doesnt spin or agitate after it fills but the lid switch must be working cuz it does empty the water . I lift the lid a fraction just enough to see if it spins when the water is empting, but no go> Now what??? Thanks

Ok, since you indicated you had to bail it by hand we assumed it was not draining, but now we know it does, so this means the motor is operating.

Since it will not agitate or spin, the likely problem is the coupling and this video will show you how to check it out and replace it if necessary.
