whirlpool dishwasher

I don’t know why only the dishes on lower rack cleaned but not the upper rack. I already checked all the spray arms, they are not clogged.
Any idea?

 Thanks for the suggestion about torx bits!

The oven temp will not go above 200 degrees. Why. The burner is lite and burning, but very little heat. I smell gas. Please help… Karl

I just check the oven and the broiler works but the oven does NOT lite up. I left it on for several minutes and the oven didn’t lite. What need replaced??

Just looked at one of these today, when you put the chopper back in, make sure it engages the motor impeller, if not, it is worn out and you will have to get a new one. Also, the drain pump and main pump alternate on and off to back flush the screen: a check valve allows this.
The check valve is on the right side of the chopper, a black thing stuck in the housing.

Hello all I was following this procedure and found a part 8268297 it is a small white plastic coneshapped item. I’m not sure where it came from I was wiping out the bottom and found it. I think it may have fell from the top where the upper water feed is. Help! I don’t want to put back together with extra parts.

thanks:eek:

Never mind i found it it does go in the upper water feed i think it is a nozzle. Putting the chopper back in and getting it to engage the impeller is a bear.

I put it back together and it still does not work. What is the next step? the chopper had scum on it but turned as did the impeller. The check valve looked ok it was intact I don’t know if the rubber gets stretched out over time. Should those to things be replaced or is there something else to look at?

Thanks

I would pull the dishwasher and check the main pump/motor. THis is a 115 volt motor you can power up with a "cheater" cord. If you have a meter you can check for missing power at various places.

You can find the complete instructions in the tech sheets.

How can I check to make sure the chopper is engaging the motor impeller? The chopper blade seems to turn quite easily. I am wondering if this is what is causing the reduced water pressure so that the top rack in not getting cleaned.

You have a busted chopper, just pull out and check.

I pulled the chopper assembly, compared to a new one and it does not appear to be broken in any way. It also does engage the impeller when it is in place. Should I be testing the motor next? If so, I am not sure how to do that. Can you help?

You might have a clog going to the upper spray arm. You also may have a low water level, just dump an extra gallon in to see if it works

Hi,

I followed this thread. I took out and cleaned chopper, still making a terrible noise when washing. Not sure what else might be the problem?
In fact the noise didn’t change at all when cleaned chopper. I took botom cover off and it just sounds awful under the machine.
Thoughts?

You probably have stuff stuck in the motor pump, will have to pull dishwasher to pull it off.

How is lower washarm removed to access the previous mentioned procedure?

Marc,

What is the complete model number of the dishwasher?

What exactly is wrong?

Remove the upper dish rack.
Remove the water feeding tube for the upper spray arm.
Remove 4 screws (#3 on the [break down diagram](http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5165514&diagram_id=28147301"]break down diagram[/URL]) holding the top cover (#1 on the [URL="http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5165514&diagram_id=28147301)).
Remove the inlet protector (#8) holding by the tab on the right side.
Check the chopper (#6) for any clog.
Clean all debris and assemble in the reverse order.

Hi Gene, thanks for all th info. We got to the part where we need to remove the 4 screws, but we can’t get to the 4th screw because it’s underneath the water supply tube. How do you get to the 4th screw? Do you have to get the water supply tube off? We don’t want to break anything. Our model number is Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner II GU2300 XTSBO. Any help would be appreciated.

My Kenmore model # 665.13482K901 dishwasher was hardly even wetting the dishes. At the beginning of every new wash cycle, it would fill with water, then run for about 10 seconds, stops and fills with more water and then starts again. But, it still isn’t enough water. I tried adding extra water with a bucket as suggested here and the dishwasher is spraying all the dishes as it should be.

How can I set the correct amount of fill water in this dishwasher? Thanks.

Sounds like the problem is a bad water inlet valve. You can try to clean the screen inside it but the best solution is to replace it.
