I have read many threads with your replies. Thank you for all your help. I have a kitchenaid KEBS208DSS10. I had the same self-cleaning - no power problem … changed out the control panel thermal fuse (now lower oven works) have to change out the thermal fuse in the back of the upper oven … I have alot questions about pulling the oven from the wall. 1) does the upper oven and lower oven detach … am I just pulling out the upper oven or are both coming out 2) How are the ovens connected to the wall 3) are there screws to take out 4) what is the best way to hold the oven when removing it … open the top door and hold from inside? Thanks so much for your help.
I had the same thing happen…6 weeks ago I had to replace the control board on my 4 year old double whirlpool oven. Now, during self cleaning it completely shut down. Called Mr. repairman again, he came out today nad said it’s now the thermal fuse, but we are supposed to replace the entire wiring harness when that happens. Is that true? It’s apparently a price difference of $100 for thermal fuse or 350 for wiring harness. can I just do the thermal fuse?
Need a little help with the wiring. There are 3 wires that enter through a hole in the rear of the oven. blue, white, and yellow. The yellow is on the igniter. The white and blue are on the top of the gas valve. The white wire jumps from the top of the valve to the bottom of the valve. The other wire on the bottom of the gas valve is on the igniter. How do I check the gas valve?
Looks like you have the same situation as the other guys who posted here. The control panel thermal fuse and very likely the upper oven shutdown fuse are blown. I do not think the lower oven is affected because it was not used at that time. In case you have to remove the oven from the cabinet you’ll need a helper because it is pretty heavy. Otherwise it is not too difficult to replace the shutdown fuse (thermostat) on the rear panel.
Hi Gene,
I have whirlpool double oven model RBD275PDB12 and I ordered the thermal fuse for the control panel and one side of the connector is too small. Is it wise to replace the connector end with the correct size? Chack out the picture the newer fuse is clear and the left side is smaller than the original. Any help is appreciated.

I can see the difference. The problem is Whirlpool does not make any other fuses, just this one [part]AP3110028[/part]
and the other fuse [part]AP3777386[/part]
One end of the fuse plugs into the control board and there is not much what you can do with the control board terminal. Use the bigger fuse terminal for this connection. There is a wire which connects to the other end of the fuse, using a male wire terminal. You can easy replace this wire terminal with a smaller size.
