Whirlpool Duet Washer and I think I have a problem with the water pump

I have been really happy with my Whirlpool Duet washer that I purchased new about 5 years ago. Once in a while, I would get the F2 code error and I would just clean out the drain pump canal and all would be well. However, this time when I got the F2 error, just "a cleaning" did not work. When the water tries to drain, I can hear the motor running…but the water is not draining out of the drum. I think it is the water pump. I am thinking about ordering a new water pump for my washer and hoping that it will be easy to install. I was also wondering if it is just my impeller that is broken?

It could very well be that your pump has failed. I replace a lot of Duet drain pumps.

Could be broken from the shaft of the motor, but in any case the pump is not repairable and would need to be replaced.

Here is the drain pump for your model.
