I got the dreaded F22 code on my Whirlpool washer. The door does open and closes. I pushed the sensor pin, after about 40 seconds, the code pops up and the washer shuts down. First, i disconnected the washer and after 20 mins, turn it back on and same thing happened. I waited 24 hrs to turn it back on without any luck. I order the latch mechanism (AP3968085) from here and replaced it without luck. I also bought the strike (AP4366423) but never used it because i did the push pin test on the latch. What else can be the problem? I hate to replace the Control

The potential problem other than the door lock mechanism or the control unit is the wiring and connections.

Check all of them beween the door lock and the control unit, and if everything checks out then you are looking at trying the control unit replacement.
