Whirlpool Duet won't start cycle or unlock door

Powers on and door locks when you hold start, but the cycle never starts.
If you hit pause the door doesn’t unlock, and the power button doesn’t work (you have to unplug power and plug it back in to get it to respond). Door will only unlock manually.

No error codes present, door switch continuity good.
Emptied water pump drain catch (no debris was present)
Problem still persists with MI3 disconnected.
Replaced CCU, but problem still persists.

for reference:

i removed the MCU pcb from the housing after receiving advice on another forum and found burned traces. Ordering a new MCU.
