whirlpool gas dryeR burner shuts off after a minute

The dryer burner runs for a minute or two then shuts off> the dryer stills runs just cold. does anyone know whats up?

I have taken off the back of the dryer and i have taken off and cleaned the lint trap thing. r there any other vents? I did run the dryer with it disconnected from the exhaust and it did the same thing. So it must be those coils right? thank you.

Exhaust and vent is the same thing. Sounds like a bad coils.

Thanks gene i will try it. It is worth the 20 bucks to give it a shot. will i have to take the drum off to get to the burner unit? Again thank you for letting me pick your brain i wil let u know.

Thank you Gene, it is worth the $20 to give it a try. Do I need to take the drum out to replace the coils?

Again, thank you for letting me pick your brain - I will let you know how it goes - wish me luck!

Some time the coils are accessible without removing the drum. Good luck.

Gene, Installed the new coils today and it did not fix the problem. Any other ideas? Is there a fuse or something for that part of the electrical that powers the coils? Just trying to exhaust all options before buying a new dryer tomorrow. Wife is pretty adamant that the clothesline is not acceptable!!!

Thanks
