Hello Pros!,
I have a kitchen full of 2 year old Whirlpool Gold Appliances and the only thing to not give me an issue so far is the dishwasher! What gives? Anyway, here’s my situation. A few weeks ago I noticed water on the interior refrigerator door and after some video watching I found the "from water filter housing" tube had a crack in the sharp 90’ fitting as it connected to the filter housing. I have not been using the filters because of the cost and rather filter my water before it comes to the refrigerator using an in-line filter. I removed both tubes from the interior of the refrigerator and plugged the hole with the putty that came with it. I took the "to water filter" tube and connected it to the where the "from water filter" tube used to be connected inside the fridge behind the lower drawers thus completing the "loop". No leaks, everything worked great for about a month. Now the issue I am having is that the water for the in-door ice maker is not making it all the way to the top of the door during it’s cycle. I hear it turn on, hear the water flowing, and when the valve kicks off, it sounds like it is trickling back down the tube. I opened the freezer, exposed the ice tray and cup, taped off the switches to trick the doors in the closed position, and watched a tiny bit of water trickle out of the cup into the ice mold and heard the rest of the water "trickle" back down the line during it’s cycle. The optic sensor seems to be working as it should. There is no water leaking from anywhere, not under the fridge, on the floor, in the pan, nothing. I changed my filter last night thinking it was low pressure causing the water line and cup to freeze up so I changed the filter and still have the same issue. Sorry for the long-winded post, just trying to give all of the information up front. Thanks in advance.
