My Whirlpool side by side refrigerator’s ice maker stopped woring the other day. I have water going to the water dispenser, but the ice maker is producing any ice. What is the first step in determining what is wrong with my refrigerator. HELP!!!
The first thing I would check is the water feeding tube into the ice maker for frost inside.
If it is frozen up, defrost it using a hair dryer and replace the water inlet valve (10 on the [AP3160649](http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?diagram_id=129778&&model_id=503950"]ice maker parts break down diagram[/URL]).

There are two options:
- You can replace the motor-module which cost $61.90
or - You can replace the whole ice maker which cost $96.50
Because we do not know what else, besides the motor, is bad - I would recommend to replace the whole ice maker.

Well I replaced the entire ice maker, and nothing happened. Will the ice maker automaticly start, or do I need to reset something? I don’t know if the water is even getting to the freezer. I do have water coming from the door? And there are no signs of frost or freezing in the line coming through the back of the frigerator.
