Whirlpool LSQ8243HZ0 Part ID

I have a Whirlpool LSQ8243HZ0 washer and I’m in the process of replacing the clutch. The machine is on it’s back and the repair was going well when a part fell off of the machine, a part I hadn’t removed or seen before. It’s a gold colored pin 2" long with a point at one end and a hole on the same end. On the opposite end it has a ridge like a nail. Also, instead or being round like a nail, it has one flat side the entire length. The part is shiny and shows no signs of wear. I’ve searched the parts diagrams but didn’t find anything like it. I’ve stopped the repair until I can figure out what this is and where it came from. Does anyone have any idea where this part may belong?

Thanks for reading my post.

After exhaustive research, I’ve solved the mystery of where the pin belongs…it belongs in the trash. The pin is part of the hardware used in the shipping/packing material. It should have been discarded with the cord or strap it was attached to when the machine was unpacked but it became separated and fell down into the machine where it has resided for many years only to emerge with the purpose to aggravate me.
