Whirlpool Oven - Lower bake element not heating

Whirlpool Oven, Model RBS305PDB11

Apparently, my wife shorted out the lower heating element while cleaning–the spade end was burned off. Today I installed a new lower heating element, but it still won’t heat up (the upper broiler element heats up fine). I also tested the oven sensor resistance, and it is fine.

All other wires look fine, and are tight.

Might the problem be the Oven Thermal Fuse?, or would that prevent BOTH the upper and lower elementsfrom heating?

Is the only other possible cause a bad computer board?

Thanks for your help, Dan

Dan,

The oven thermal fuse shuts off the power to both heating elements. So unfortunately it looks like the shorted heating element caused damage to the microcomputer.
