Ok so Christmas Eve we cooked all day with no problems, and then Christmas came and I couldn’t get the oven to start.
il will go to pre heat the oven and I can hear it click three times, and I can hear the GAS coming through and even smell it but it wont ignite.
I have even let it go through the cycle to try and start 3 times ( 1 min) apart but it still wont ignite, and the smell of gas is strong.
Any one have any ideas what part I will need to replace or anything I can do beside getting a new stove?
Hi.
Remove the bottom cover, burner baffle and check if there is a spark or it’s only the click you hear.
If there is no spark - check the spark cable and replace the spark control board W10331686
If there is a spark - check the ignitor alignment, clean the ignitor with isopropyl alcohol, replace the burner
Here are the breakdown diagrams and http://www.appliancepartspros.com/manifold-parts-for-whirlpool-sf196lepb0.html
Post the results.

Yes there is a spark, so I should clean the thing that sparks with the alcohol?
Now when you sat replace the "burner" do you mean put the old one back on or buy a new one?
if the old one is bad can I clean that one?
Hi.
I meant the new one ,but you can try to clean the pilot holes first.
Simon.
ok so the top thing has a spark but the bottom one does not have a spark.
one out of I would say 10 trys the bottom one gets a spark and will ignite.
if I put a flame next to the burner while its trying to ignite it will light, so does that mean I need a new spark controle board?
HI.
Check the spark cable, check the ignitor alignment, replace the spark control.
