My whirlpool Quiet Package III dishwasher hasn’t worked since a recent thunderstorm. The storm caused damage to my furnace blower panel & TV, so I’m thinking that the problem could be lightening damage to the dishwasher as well. Five of the lights on the panel are permanently on (pots&pans, 4hr, 6hr, washing, and cancel/drain)… but none of the buttons respond to pressing & the dishwasher won’t turn on. I’m wondering if it could be the control panel?? Please help!
Your problem sounds like a touchpad issue but with lightning damage it could be multiple things or a single thing and don’t just think it’s the touchpad having the problem alone. Touchpad issues sometimes have nothing to do with the touchpads at all and are actually main control board issues. Your best luck is call an appliance tech to thoroughly examine the damage cause because you may have wiring harness damage or motor component damage also. In all honesty after lightning storm damage i typically tell customers just to replace their unit because you never know if there’s damage that’s undetectable during inspection then pops up later on down the line. You can buy new dishwashers for 3-400 brand new.
