Help Please!!!
so the washer fills with water and then it kicks into agitate but it doesn’t sound completely right. After it sounds weird for a bit then it starts to make a humming/buzzing noise and then the noise stops.
I checked the motor and its super hot.
when i let it sit for 30 min or so i try to kick it into any setting and i get the same hum/buzz sound. After an hour of letting it sit then i i get the weird sound again.
i checked the pump for a sock or some kind of block and there wasn’t anything in there. Then i took the agitator off and i did notice the dog ears need replacing but i didn’t see anything else wrong.
something is causing the motor to overheat but i don’t know what is causing this to happen
thanks!
Need the correct model number of the washer. The number you gave is not it. Check under the lid.
Eric
sorry…that must have been a part number or something
Model #
LSQ9010LW3
i hope that is the right one because i don’t see any others under the lid
also…since my initial post i tried to spin the motor coupling and it did turn fine
Pull the pump away from the motor, pull the motor and set it on the floor and see if it will run. If it still just hums, rotate the motor shaft quickly by hand to see if it will start.
Eric
Ok…I will give that a try when I get home
ya…its the motor sometimes it struggles to start but most of the time it just hum’s
Does the motor shaft rotate freely by hand? If so, you may have a faulty start capacitor or the motor switch is defective. Capacitor is located on inside of back panel near the water inlet valve. Check the connection of the red wires there, look for any cracks/splits/holes in capacitor or bad tabs that the wires connect to. Check condition of motor wiring harness connector. You can open the cover of the motor switch to inspect the contacts. Switch can be replaced.
