After the last rinse cycle, the final spin cycle intermittently works. I have to open the lid, and turn the tub clockwise until i feel it get some resistance. Even then, it’s a gamble on whether or not it will spin. (or spin fast enough to get some of the water out of the clothes.) Any ideas are welcomed.
Hi.
Assuming that washer agitates OK.
Remove the agitator and check the drive block, it looks like

If it’s not stripped, then most likely you need to replace the
clutch [part]285785 [/part]

Thanks Simon. I’m going to do a little bit of troubleshooting this weekend. I’ll let you know what I find.
OK.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, the drive block was in good shape. So I guess now I’m left with troubleshooting the clutch, or do you suggest just replacing the clutch at this point. For replacement, do you have another handy video. The vid for the drive block replacement was exactly how a how-to video should be.
Thanks,
Adam
Hi.
Just click on the clutch photo to get the video.
Simon.
OK, girlfriend moves in with washing machine. I wonder why she sometimes runs to laundry room when doing a load.
She say’s since day one of purchase the machine does this same thing. So next time it does it I want to see what is going on.
If you lift the lid the machine shuts off and clunks like going into gear, close lid and the machine will spin as it should.
So question is? What could it be if only doing intermittently? Clutch slipping sometimes? Anything else I should look for? How will I know if clutch is bad?
I am not a novice handyman…My washer ( I got rid of when she moved in) was 32 years old and had done multiple repairs over the years.
Thanks,
Tom
