Whirlpool washer cold water problem

[LEFT]I am having a problem with my washer.
Everything is hooked up and working fine except for the cold water. It is coming through the hose from the wall, and the filter is clean.
The cold water does not run for the wash cycle, (no cold water for the warm or the cold wash cycles.)
The cold water rinse cycle is ok, so the water does get through.
Any advice please.

Just to let anyone who is interested, I have found the fault(s).
I removed the the timer switch, & noticed a burnt contact, so I filed the contact faces with a needle file & reassembled the part. No difference.
I then noticed that if I turned the temperature switch in one direction I got cold water flowing for the wash cycle, but when I turned the switch in the other direction I did not.
After taking this switch apart & realigning the contacts everthing is fine & I have cold water on demand.
Best of all it didn’t cost a dime, only time.
