Our washer filled the basket with water but the agitator does not start. Since we were in the other room, I don’t know if agitator ever started or not. I cannot turn the agitator by hand like I normally can and I did notice the lid switch is burned and all wires are disconnected from the screw on the washer cabinet. My wife thinks the switch has always been bad since machine will run even with lid open. I’ve emptied clothes and water but still can’t get agitator to turn by hand. Actually nothing works. I can’t hear any motor hum and washer will not work from any cycle. It’s like it’s locked up. Thanks for any help provided.
You may not be able to turn the agitator by hand depending on were the transmission stopped. Replace the lid switch, you know it’s bad.
