Whirlpool Washer WTW57ESVW1 won't spin

Trying to diagnose issue where washer does not spin. It does agitate. If I am standing there when the spin cycle is supposed to begin, I can raise and close the lid quickly which will cause a clunk sound and the spin will run. During each load of cloths, it will function normally if I open and close the lid both times it gets to the spin cycle. Otherwise, all other functions appear to be working.
Looking for recommendations on what part is causing issue. Thanks.

May be operating normally. The washer has a neutral drain transmission. After agitation stops, the washer should drain for a full 2 minutes without spinning. Then the motor pauses for a few seconds and starts back up again causing the transmission to shift out of neutral. When it starts back up again, it should start spinning while continuing to drain. Opening/closing the lid pauses the motor causing it to shift out of neutral. If washer drains but motor never pauses after the 2 minute drain period, the timer is faulty.

Thanks, I’ll monitor a couple of cycles and see if that is it.
