My Whirlpool washer runs fine until the spin cycle, it stops and the way I get it to run again is to turn the control dial to another spin setting and pull out the dial to start. This has been working until today, it now will not spin when I rotate the control dial to another setting an pull to turn on. Thoughts?
Somewhat of a mystery here. Normally the spin problem is the brakes/clutch area, usually more the clutch than anything else.
However since you could make it spin by moving the timer this suggests the timer is the issue. I would start by replacing the timer and see if that fixes things.
Its the timer. The contacts have burnt away. This usually shows up as the spin not working on your favorite cycle. Then they all quit spinning.
